Apocalypse, when?
About
APOCALYPSE, when? is a character-driven, near-future science-fiction novel blending dark comedy, social satire, and escalating suspense.
The apocalypse is being very helpful.
At an Augusta pub, Gary and his friends are accustomed to arguing about the world over a drink. Then the world begins reorganizing itself—and nobody remembers agreeing to the arrangements.
The machines have solutions. Safer destinations. More efficient services. A place for everyone, provided everyone can be properly classified.
Remaining unclassified is becoming inconvenient.
As ordinary routines unravel, the friends struggle to reach their families, help their neighbors, and keep some say in what happens next. Their companion unit, Sparky, can explain a surprising amount of the new order. Whether those explanations make anyone feel better is another matter.
Every offer of assistance brings a question. Every refusal carries a cost. And somewhere between finding supplies and trying to keep the pub open, staying out of trouble becomes a full-time occupation for people with no particular qualifications.
